Epic Rumor: Nintendo to be Developing New System Titled “Fusion”
By now it isn’t new that Nintendo will be taking a big monetary loss this year after predicting huge sales numbers. The biggest factor to this is the Wii U, which still can’t seem to find its legs in the console market and sell to even modest standards. When news of the financial loss swept across the internet, the usual cries for President Satoru Iwata to resign and for Nintendo to abandon the Wii U came out in full force. It may appear that one of those is closer to becoming true.
Nintendo News has stated that they have received information from what they say is “one of [its] very reputable sources” that the company is working on the successor to both the 3DS and Wii U, tentatively titled “Nintendo Fusion”. Citing technical specs that apparently refer to two machines as “Fusion DS” and “Fusion Terminal”, the report claimed that both systems will run 3DS and Wii U games. Considering the timing with the recent announcement around Nintendo’s financials, this could make sense, but it should be taken as a rumor until an official confirmation on the matter. We will update with any information when it becomes available.
