Epic Rumor: Marvel’s Spider-Man Will Not Be White

A new rumor has emerged about the casting for Marvel’s upcoming Spider-Man reboot. Word is, the actor who plays Spider-Man won’t be white and, in fact, will most likely be black or Latino.

TheWrap reporter Jeff Sneider broke the news during the Meet the Movie Press podcast, when he claimed that, based on his sources, it is unlikely that the next version of Spider-Man will be portrayed by a white actor. Here’s what he had to say:

“Listen, this is not set in stone guys, but I’m telling you right now, Spider-Man’s not going to be white. Spider-Man’s not going to be white. I’m 95% sure. Spider-Man’s going to be most likely black. But there’s a chance he could also be Latino. 95% sure, not white.”

Spider-Man lives in New York City, fights crime, yet is very smart underneath the mask. All things considered, it won’t make any difference what color he is, because he will have the same desires to keep the city safe and all the qualities that Spider-Man should have.

Either way, Spider-Man is expected to be on screen with Captain America: Civil War which will be airing in 2017. Check out the full podcast video below!
