Fallout 4 Officially Announced with Beautiful New Trailer

The speculation is over! Fallout 4 has officially been announced — not that anyone is surprised after Bethesda launched a website that appeared to be counting down to this moment. Fans have been waiting since the release of Fallout 3 in 2008 for another installment to come to the franchise, mostly based off their want for another game and not the fact that there had been hints. However, over the years Bethesda has let on that there would be a Fallout 4 and then it became a waiting game. The trailer is an in-game glimpse at what gamers can hope to expect from the title, and shows that Fallout 4 will be based out of Boston.

More importantly, the trailer has set the plot in The Commonwealth, a place that was previously mentioned in prior Fallout titles. In Fallout 3’s side quest The Replicated Man, gamers meet Dr. Zimmer who is from The Commonwealth which he describes as a “war-ravaged quagmire of violence and despair”. Zimmer and some of his colleagues were able to escape The Commonwealth, which is wild and overrun with androids. There is also talk of The Institute which appears to be a futuristic version of MIT. There’s also a railroad within The Commonwealth which goes the opposite direction of The Institute, it’s goal to help rescue any androids that have been created. However, that’s not such an easy feat as there is the Synth Retention Bureau, whose purpose is to capture androids.

Bethesda will be hosting their first ever E3 conference on June 14th, in which they have confirmed gamers will be able to feast their eyes upon gameplay. But that’s enough talk, check out the trailer below!
