First Look at the New Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls DLC!

Diablo-3-Reaper-Of-Souls

In less than a week, Blizzard Entertainment will be releasing what is hopefully the first of many DLC packs to come for their 2012 dungeon crawling masterpiece, Diablo 3. As a fan of Blizzard and in particular Diablo 3, this means not only is it time to KILL ALL THE THINGS once more, but experiencing a whole new layer of this dungeon crawling and demon hunting epic from Blizzard.

But what can we expect so far? Read on and you shall see.

Firstly, the significance of a DLC like this is that not only does it fix up important issues and tie off a few loose threads, it adds a whole new layer to how the game feels overall and its gameplay to make the game even more fun to play. As it is, Diablo 3, like many of Blizzard’s games, are laden with replay value, and the Reaper of Souls DLC will add more and more reasons to keep playing Diablo 3 and kill Diablo and all the other things over and over again.

Reaper of Souls implements not one, but two completely new social features called “Clans and Communities”. Players of the new DLC will be provided with tools that are simple and practical for communicating and searching for other players with interests similar to their own, whether it be loot hunting, demon slaying or even farming. In Reaper of Souls, the traditional “clan” feature is implemented to enable players to form fellowships with other players. However, there is a catch. There is only a limit of 120 players per clan and you are only able to be a part of one clan at a time. Communities, meanwhile, will bring a huge social front to the game, giving players the opportunity to come together for whatever reason. Whether they share the same class, live in the same neck of the woods, visit the same websites, players are able to be a part of multiple communities at any given time and unlike clans, there is an “almost unlimited” member cap.

What else can we expect from Blizzard’s latest DLC? Apart from a sandbox style Adventure Mode, players also get to experience a new Act in the game, new abilities in enchanting, new quests, new skills for their existing class and even a new Crusader class.

Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls will be released on the 25th of March 2014 in game stores all around the world. Until then, look out for my review of Blizzard’s “dark and terrifying new chapter”.
