Gears of War 4 Developer Confirms Split-Screen For All Game Modes

During a recent interview with Game Informer, Gears of War 4 head developer, Rod Fergusson confirmed that the game will offer local co-op via split-screen. Fergusson also revealed that split-screen will be offered in every game mode, from campaign to multiplayer.

For split-screen, however, the frame rate will drop down to 30fps. While Gears of War 4’s campaign will run at 1080p/30fps, with multiplayer anticipating for 60fps, though a resolution has yet to be confirmed. It won’t be long before we see the effects on the in-game multiplayer, until then Microsoft will beholding a technical beta sometime later this month to test drive Gears of War 4’s servers with a large player base, with presumptions that split-screen will also be available for testing.

While no official date has been confirmed at the time this article was written, Gears of War 4’s anticipated release date will be sometime in 2016 exclusively for the Xbox One.
