Hideo Kojima Issues Metal Gear Solid Debriefing Video

With Metal Gear Solid V now on store shelves, and with reviews for the game being overwhelmingly positive, series creator Hideo Kojima has released a new video set to debrief fans, interview key players, and bring the series and his work in it to a close. In this interview series he sits down with Troy Baker, the voice of Ocelot, Robert Atkin Downes, the voice of Miller, as well as a slew of others, in a 10 minute long retrospective on a series that has spanned over 25 years. With all the recent press going on about Kojima’s disagreements with Konami, it is easy to forget that Metal Gear Solid V is the end of such an illustrious legacy of unique, creative, and industry transforming game design, and should be treated as a personal, somber moment for gamers everywhere.

At the end of the video, Kojima issues a final report to a very special person, which I won’t begin to spoil here. The entire video is gripping, a stalwart reminder of the love and dedication that Kojima brought to game design and bringing entertainment to others. If you’ll excuse me, I need to wipe a tear from my eye.
