Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones

Indiana Jones Role Won’t Be Recast, Says Producer

There has been a lot of chatter about an Indiana Jones 5 movie, but all we know so far is that the film will definitely be on the Lucasfilm slate…. eventually. Needless to say, any morsel of information is pounced on by fans, including a recent interview with Producer Frank Marshall.

5 Epic Plot Ideas for ‘Indiana Jones 5’

Marshall recently sat down with with Total Film and was questioned about the likelihood of Chris Pratt taking over iconic role:

“There are a lot of rumours,” Marshall remarked. “We haven’t even sat down to talk about Indy yet… at some point we’ll sit down. But there’s a bunch of people who could probably take the baton.”
However, Marshall also essentially admitted that the lead role will not be recast, telling the magazine that the filmmakers are “not doing the Bond thing where we’re going to call somebody else Indiana Jones…we have to figure this out.”

5 Things Disney Needs To Do To Make Indiana Jones 5 Great

Director Steven Spielberg previously hinted at Harrison Ford’s return to the franchise, and Marshall’s comments seem to back this up. Even so, this doesn’t mean that Indy won’t pass the baton to a new, more spry adventurer at some point.

It’s still mostly speculation, but Ford fans can take some comfort in these positive indications that he will continue on in the role. How do you feel about the news that Ford may continue to play the beloved archaeologist, Dr. Henry Walton “Indiana” Jones, Jr.? Let us know in the comments below!
