Injustice: Gods Among Us 2 Might Be In Development
E3 is in a couple of weeks, and you know what that means: time for some rumors about what’s being shown! This time, there are rumors going around that a sequel to the excellent 2013 DC fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us will be a sequel, called surprisingly enough, Injustice: Gods Among Us 2.
This is according to a report by French gaming blog Gameblog.fr (as translated by VG24/7), which claims that this new game is being developed by Mortal Kombat and Injustice developer NetherRealm Studios, and is running on the same engine as Mortal Kombat X. The game is set to be announces sometime before E3 this year, with a March 2017 release for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. As of time of this writing, NetherRealm has neither denied or confirmed these rumors.
Even though this is a rumor and nothing is official yet, having a sequel would make sense. The original was really great when it first came out, and properties based on comic books is still pretty popular. Plus, the world of Injustice (which takes place in an alternate universe where Superman became a dictator) was an interesting one that could be explored in multiple forms of media, especially in a sequel game. We’ll hopefully know more for sure in the coming weeks, but for me personally, I have my fingers crossed.
