Over the past year, we’ve all been spending more time at home. As a result, fashion trends have been leaning more casual as we seek out clothing that allows us to stay comfortable while navigating this new way of life (the “lockdown look”).
I recently had the chance to work with Femme Luxe to bring you an honest review of some of their products. Femme Luxe is a UK-based women’s clothing company with hard-to-beat prices and a wide range of styles. I wanted to take this opportunity to discover and share some of the cute and comfortable items available from their shop – all of which can help you level-up your everyday wear to look and feel good.
Level 1: Keep it Casual with a Loungewear Set
When first browsing their site, I was excited to discover a huge collection of Loungewear sets. Sweatsuits are super on-trend right now, and I’ve been searching for the perfect set to add to my wardrobe. Femme Luxe offers dozens of different sets in a wide variety of colors. Whether you’re looking for classic sweats or something a little more lightweight, a neutral staple, or something with a pop of color, there’s something for you. These sets are perfect for lounging around the house, enjoying a late-night TV or gaming session, or running errands around the town in your most comfortable state.
I personally opted for the Grey Cailleigh Set. This set includes a boxy cropped hoodie with an adjustable drawstring hem. This is paired with cuffed joggers that have a seam along the front of each leg for a more structured look. When I received my set, I was impressed with the style and feel of the material, although I ran into some issues with the sizing. Sadly, the hoodie fit just right but the joggers did not fit at all. More specifically, the elastic waistband would have fit just fine, but the legs were far too tight with minimal stretch to the fabric.
Of course, when ordering from any site, it’s important to reference the size guide to make sure you get the best fit. Femme Luxe’s clothing is listed by UK sizing, which takes some extra consideration if (like me) you’re used to a different sizing scale. When trying to find my size, I mainly considered the fact that I wear a Small to Medium in US sizing. I thought that the equivalent of a Medium in Femme Luxe’s sizing would be safe, especially since they often feature curvier models in their product photos. Unfortunately, their sizing tends to run smaller and some of their fabrics are less forgiving than I anticipated.
A general rule of thumb: always be sure to check the specific measurements on the size chart and consider sizing up if you only have the option to select one size for a set with multiple pieces!
Level 2: Stay Cute and Cozy with a Knit Sweater
Second is the June Cardigan in the color Stone. Despite a somewhat confusing color name (most other items I have seen with a color called Stone have been grey), this sweater is a nice neutral tan color. Note: this style does also come in grey. Ironically, where some of the other items I ordered fit smaller than I expected, I thought this one fit much more loosely, but that all ties back into the intentionally-slouchy, long fit. This slinky neutral sweater is a great addition to any closet. Pair with a tee and leggings for an ultra-relaxed look, a crop top and jeans for a casual outing, or even a simple dress for a more sophisticated feel. This sweater will take any ‘fit to a new level of cozy.
Level 3: Go Bold with a Denim Staple
My third selection from Femme Luxe is a bit more of a statement piece. The Noemi Cropped Black Denim Jacket is a classic piece and a must-have for anyone who loves a cropped look. While the sleeves are a tad blousey for my taste, I love how this piece can elevate any outfit. Like the June Cardigan, this is a true staple that will add just the right amount of edge to any number of looks you wish to rock. Of the three items I’ve tried from Femme Luxe, this jacket is my favorite.
Final Thoughts
Femme Luxe offers a great selection of styles at prices that are hard to beat. That being said, the quality is pretty on-par with their prices (comparable to the quality of brands such as Forever 21 or SHEIN). All-in-all, if you’re interested in adding some cute and comfortable looks to your wardrobe at a super reasonable cost, you should try them out! Just remember to be mindful of sizing differences and check their sizing guide before placing your order.
