Minecraft: Story Mode is Coming to the Wii U

Good news everybody! After years of begging and pleading, Mojang has heard our cries, the incredibly popular building game Minecraft is finally coming to the Wii U! Well, kind of.

You see, while Minecraft is indeed coming to the Wii U, it’s not Minecraft proper, but rather the spin-off adventure game Minecraft: Story Mode, which is being developed by the fine folks at Telltale Games, the studio behind games like The Walking Dead and Tales From the Borderlands. Not only that, but the game will be playable this week at PAX Prime, over at Telltale’s booth, where attendees can receive one of four exclusive shirts.

“Players will control protagonist Jesse throughout the season, as portrayed by actor Patton Oswalt. Jesse and his group of friends revere the legendary Order of the Stone; four adventurers who slayed an Ender Dragon,” reads the game’s description. “The Order are the very best at what they do: Warrior, Redstone Engineer, Griefer, and Architect. While at EnderCon, Jesse and his friends discover that something is wrong… something dreadful. Terror is unleashed, and they must set out on a journey to find The Order of the Stone if they are to save their world from oblivion.”

Minecraft: Story Mode is set to release on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, iOS and Android devices, and finally the Wii U later this year.
