New Final Fantasy XIV Screenshots Show Off New Mini-games and Battles

Final Fantasy XIV (or Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn as it’s often known as) will be getting a new update called “As Goes Light, So To Darkness”. To celebrate it, Square Enix has released a bevy of screenshots for the 3.1 update, which you can check out below.

The screenshots show off a new mini-game for the Golden Saucer area called Lord of Verminion, where player’s minions compete and do battle much like Pokemon to win fabulous prizes. The screenshots also show the Minstrel’s Ballad Thordan’s Reign trial, a new raid, several new hairstyles for you to put on your character (one of which is giving me a Final Fantasy VII Aerith vibe), and a look at the upcoming daily  Vanu Vanu Beast Tribe quests.

Update 3.1 is set to go live on November 10th of this year, and in addition to everything previously mentioned, will also include some new story missions, new dungeons, and the ability to take part in 24 person raids. Final Fantasy XIV is available now for the PlayStation 4 and PC.
