New Japanese Trailer for Pokemon Sun and Moon Released

Nintendo has just released a new trailer for the upcoming Pokemon Sun and Moon games, and oh man is there a lot in it. You can check it out below.

The trailer is shown from the perspective of a young boy who appears to be visiting his family while on vacation. It switches between gameplay and the real world, but the gameplay is what we’re all interested in, and it delivers. As the boy and his young relatives are sitting around a table, we get a look at the new Free-for-All battle mode. People in the Pokemon community have been asking for a Free-for-all mode since X and Y, and it’s finally going to happen.

Some other mechanics that started in Pokemon X and Y, like riding Pokemon and Pokemon Amie, are making their way back. The trailer shows the character riding a Tauros and Stoutland on land, while Lapras and Sharpedo make their way back as our water chauffeurs. No new Pokemon are shown, but we do get some in-game footage of the one’s that have been announced.

Towards the end of the clip, we get to see a strange new attack mechanic. The trainer strikes a pose, and the starter of choice has its elemental symbol appear in front of them, right before they unleash a devastating attack. As of now, no official word has been given on what these attacks are. Pokemon Sun and Moon will be available November 18th, 2016 for the Nintendo 3DS.
