New Minecraft Mini-Game Now Available On Consoles

Mojang has released a new free update for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation Vita, and Xbox 360 versions of Minecraft. The new update includes a new free mini-game and more.

According to the developer, the object of the game is to demolish the blocks under your adversaries’ feet, which can send them down a pit of lava. The last player standing at the end of the match is proclaimed the winner.

“There are two variants of the game to choose from: one which lets players launch snowballs, the other equipping combatants with shovels,” the Mojang explains. “Each bout consists of a best of three, on a series of semi-randomized maps, each with several layers of differing materials and hazards. Do you duke it out at the top, or tactically drop a level, blasting your opponent’s perch from beneath? Take care not to get glued to slime blocks or trip over TNT!”

In addition to a free new mini-game to indulge in, the new update also allows players to pick up the first map pack for the first free mini-game, Battle. The map pack includes the Castle, Invasion, and Shipyard maps into the game and is available for $2.99,
