New Resident Evil HD Mod Brings Back The Terrible Voice Acting

The original Resident Evil is considered by many to be an all time classic and a staple in the survival horror genre due to its controls, fixed camera angles, and focus on scaring the player. The voice acting, while fitting with the campy B-movie vibe that the series was going for at the time, isn’t considered so timeless. Still, the original voices certainly have their charm, and thanks to one dedicated modder, you too can experience the really cheesy and really bad voice acting of the 90s, only you can experience it in HD.

The mod for Resident Evil HD brings back all the original and campy dialog of the PlayStation One classic, complete with such beloved classics as “I think you, the master of unlocking things, would find a use for this”, and “that was a close call, Jill! You almost became a Jill sandwich!” The mod supposedly took a long time to make, as nearly 500 lines of dialog had to be edited, as some of them also included gun fire and other sound effects. A video showing the mod in action was even released by modder that goes by the name Flour Bunny on YouTube, which you can check out below.

Resident Evil HD is available now for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC, though the mod only works on the PC version of the game.
