Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight

New Trailer for Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight

The 8th film from Quentin Tarantino, The Hateful Eight, has a new trailer out, and it looks to offer plenty of the infectiously entertaining banter and action that Tarantino is known for.

Eight dangerous, socially incompatible characters find themselves stuck together with one of them in possession of a rather handsome bounty (Why Kurt Russell’s character advertises that to everybody, I’m sure I don’t know). There’s plenty of quickdraw and one liners. It’s a bit difficult to make out what the character dynamics will end up being since the attention grabbing, money-shot editing of the trailer leave the context pretty ambiguous.

The deep winter setting in sure to allow plenty of visual flair and extra tension. Russell and Jackson’s bounty hunters will travel together in the beginning of the film, transporting Russell’s bounty (Jennifer Jason Leigh) and forced to make a pit stop where they encounter the rest of the cast. They include Sheriff Chris Mannix (Walton Goggins), British intellectual Oswaldo Mobray (Tim Roth), the Confederate General Sandy Smithers (Bruce Dern), the cowboy Joe Gage (Michael Madsen), and the Barkeep Bob (Demian Bichir).

Since the film is supposedly set after the Civil War, and Django Unchained was set before and both feature black bounty hunters, do you think it’s possible that The Hateful Eight’s Samuel L. Jackson character could be an older version of Jamie Foxx’s character? We know their names are different but why should that ruin the fun?

Anyway, check out the trailer below. The Hateful Eight debuts January 8th 2016.
