Nolan North Says The Last of Us Sequel is Coming

According to Nolan North, the voice of Nathan Drake in the Uncharted series, Naughty Dog is working on a sequel to the critically acclaimed PlayStation 3 game (later ported to the PlayStation 4), The Last of Us. Speaking at a panel Sunday at Metrocon 2015 (a video of which you can see below), North responded to a fan question about whether he would be working with Naughty Dog on other projects besides Uncharted 4. “For now, last one”, North replied. “I know they’re doing a Last of Us 2, but my character in Last of Us met an untimely demise.”

While nothing has been confirmed by Naughty Dog or Sony, an interesting tidbit is that fellow voice actor Troy Baker, who voiced Last of Us protagonist Joel, has come out and said during a panel at Indy PopCon (a video of which you can see below) this weekend that he was unaware of a sequel to The Last of Us. Whether it’s Baker being hiding something or if he genuinely doesn’t know remains to be seen. For now, fans will have to take solace in playing The Last of Us on the PlayStation 4 and the upcoming Unhcarted 4 if they want to hear Nolan North and Troy Baker together in one game.
