Payday 3 Is In Development, But Don’t Expect It Anytime Soon
In a recent financial report, publisher Starbreeze Studios announced that Payday 3 is official in development. However, that’s about the only thing Starbreeze could say, as the game currently doesn’t have a release window.
The report was discovered by GamesIndustry.biz, which shows that company has grown significantly thanks to the success of Dead by Daylight. However, the biggest bit of news from the documents was the news that Payday 3 is currently in development. While the game is in “full design stage”, EO Bo Andersson Klint cautioned that the game will, “enjoy as much time as we deem needed. It will be done when it’s done.”
The last game in the series, Payday 2, got a bit of flak when microtransactions were added to the game. Despite that, the game still did pretty well (though most of those sales were before the microtransactions were put in), so a sequel seems like a no brainer at this point. It’s still too early to speculate on what this new game will have, but at the very least, we now know that we’ll be donning masks and suits and robbing banks sometime in the future.
