Serena is the rival in Pokémon X and Y when the player plays as a male character. She lives next door to the player and teaches them how to catch a pokémon when the adventure begins. Upon meeting Team Flare, she helps the player to beat them, sometimes employing tag battles. Throughout the game she will challenge the player to a battle and employs various types of pokémon along with the starter that is super-effective against the starter chosen by the player.
Yui-Lang has taken gorgeous photos of cosplayer Ver1sa as Serena. The cosplay is well executed with the pleated red skirt and matching hat. With white sunglasses, black stockings and a pink purse, the model transforms herself to the pretty pokémon trainer. The background is that of the tall, flowery grass found around the landscape of Pokémon X and Y. Adding a pokéball and various pokémon stuffed animals really make it feel as if the photos are of a “real” pokémon trainer traveling around the Kalos region. What I most enjoyed were the photos with a bicycle, one of the most iconic forms of transportation throughout the Pokémon games. The photos are magical and fun, just like the world of Pokémon.
