Rainbow Six Siege Gets A Massive Update

A new update is out for Rainbow Six Siege. This new update re-balances both operators and weapons found in the Mid-Season Reinforcements update.

The update adds a variety of buffs to several operator abilities, which include Glaz getting an upgraded scope with thermal vision, Echo’s drone disorienting with a hit anywhere on the body, Doc getting an increase to his healing potential from 120 HP to 140 HP, and Buck receiving an extra magazine for his under-barrel shotgun. There’s also going to be adjustments to operator weapons as well, with changes the size reduction on red dot, reflex, and holo sights, which allow for better precision. Here are some other weapon changes detailed in the blog post:

• The DMR’s maximum trigger rate has been lowered to prevent very rapid firing
• Echo’s MP5SD2 does more damage at medium range
• Thermite’s 556xi is easier to control
• Caveira’s Luison’s damage dropoff has been tweaked
• Jackal’s C7E’s recoil is getting balanced
• Capitao’s PARA-308 is getting a recoil buff

Following the update, a technical test server will also be live a couple weeks later. The server will be used similarly to other games’ test environments that try out changes before implementing them in the main game. The first test planned to hit the server will be of a streamlined matchmaking process, with more details on it coming soon.

Rainbow Six Siege is out now for the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. The Mid-Season Reinforcements update is available today across all platforms.
