Rainbow Six Siege Introduces Some Changes Mid-Season

Ubisoft has just released a mid-season update for Rainbow Six Siege. The new update makes some changes to operators, adds new gadgets, attachments, and more.

“You can expect these kinds of updates for future seasons as we try to implement changes we think will help improve the game, while incorporating feedback from the community,” Ubisoft added. It’s good to see Ubisoft listening to the fan base and making the necessary changes to keep the game fun and competitive.

Changes to the operatives include allowing Twitch to now place fully functional Shock Drone in Preparation Phase, in place of a normal Drone. This means Twitch can now have two shock drones active at the same time. Here are the changes that have been made to her drone:

  • It now moves 30% faster (this puts it on par with normal Drone speeds).
  • It creates less sound when moving.
  • The red light on the model has been removed.
  • The range of the darts has been increased from 5m to 7m.

Next up is Blackbeard. Ubisoft made it so he had two shields for players to swap through and their hp dropped to 150 instead of 800. This was to balance him out and help make his shields an active thing players had to think about. Here are the changes that have been made to his shield:

• Blackbeard now has 2 shields, and can cycle through them with a queue system by equipping / un-equipping.
• The HP of the shields has been reduced, from 800HP to 150HP.
• The Shields’ durability is displayed on the UI.

The last operative to change is Doc. Doc can heal teammates and himself with the stim pistol to make it less of a situational gadget. Doc will also be able to overheal himself and teammates up to 12o health that will drain by 1 hp every two seconds.

The full patch notes can be found here.  Rainbow Six Siege is available now for the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
