Marvel's Ant-Man Movie

SDCC 2014: Ant-Man Coming to Comic-Con

With all of the recent SDCC announcements, you can bet that Marvel will be announcing its full schedule anytime now. We know DC will be in attendance with the special 75th anniversary of Batman, and we know that Mark Ruffalo will be showing his face with some of the others from Avengers: Age of Ultron. Now, Michael Douglas is cluing us in to a possible Ant-Man appearance at the Con.

James Gunn Weighs in on Edgar Wright’s ‘Ant-Man’ Departure

Speaking with Collider at a round table interview for his new movie, And So It Goes, Douglas seemed less than pleased about Edgar Wright bailing on Ant-Man. Marvel is sticking to its guns, though, and is so far sticking with the film’s production schedule and July 17, 2015 release date.

Douglas alluded to his upcoming role as Dr. Hank Pym in Ant-Man by saying,“August, yeah. Yeah, I’m gonna go do Ant-Man in August in Atlanta.”

Douglas also had this to say about San Diego Comic-Con: “Yeah! I’m going to Comic-Con. I’m even dragging my son. I promised I’m taking him out of camp … But we gotta be back here. I’ve gotta give a cancer speech on Sunday morning. Marvel’s 8:45 or – 8:45 on Saturday night, so we’re gonna fly all night back and drop him at camp like at 5:30, 6 in the morning in the Adirondacks, and come down and talk to 2,000 head and neck surgeons.”

Douglas went on to talk about how he was disappointed in the directorial change, since Wright had many years invested in the project. New director Peyton Reed should be on hand to take some heat come panel time in Hall H as well.
