Sony Working on PS4 Remote Play App for PC and Mac

Sony has announced that their Remote Play feature will be touching down on PC and Mac, allowing users to control their PlayStation systems from their laptop or desktop. This comes following the unofficial Remote Play PC program made storms, essentially implementing just such a feature on PC. Further, Sony Computer Entertainment President also confirmed the feature, stating that they are working on an official application, although no release date or details have been given or even hinted at.

Also worth note is Microsoft’s Windows 10 feature, which allows game streaming via Xbox One, which is already available within a user’s home network. If Sony can find a way to break that home network cage, then the service will pull ahead of comparable alternatives. Currently, the Remote Play feature allows players to stream gameplay from their PlayStation 4 to their PlayStation Vita and other PlayStation devices, meaning that players aren’t tied to their televisions.
