Swipe Right, Fallout 4’s Vault Boy is on Tinder

In an effort to think outside the box of traditional advertisement, Bethesda is taking promoting their upcoming highly anticipated fourth installment of their post apocalypse RPG Fallout to the dating app Tinder in order to create one of the strangest pieces of promotional pieces gaming has ever seen. Vault Boy, the cartoon mascot of the Fallout series, is 25, enjoys exploring the Wasteland, as well as collecting bottle caps, Nuka Cola, taking coffee breaks, as well as putting out fires. The Tinder profile is part of Bethesda’s #DateADweller campaign, which also serves to promote the companion mobile game Fallout Shelter, which will have to tide Fallout fans until the game comes out this November.

Fallout 4 is the fourth installment (technically fifth) in the iconic Fallout franchise, where the Second World War never ended, leading all of North America to hide in underground vaults to avoid the nuclear disaster that turns the country into a barren wasteland where radiation has resulted in ghouls, mutants, talking trees, and plenty, plenty more. Fallout 4 is scheduled for release November 10th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows. Fallout Shelter is available now on Android and iOS.
