Telltale Games’ creative communications head Job J. Stauffer cleared up some questions on Twitter today, specifically regarding the status of the third season of their highly popular The Walking Dead series of adventure games. The veritable resurgence of point-and-click adventure games in recent years owes its thanks to Telltale and their unique and captivating style of storytelling, pulling the heart strings of gamers all over through the story of young Clementine and her struggles to survive in the wastelands of Walker infestation.
Stauffer started with a tweet saying that the new spin-off, which stars the undead dominating Michonne is about to sneak up on us, perhaps meaning that the installment will see a release date soon? When asked about the third season, Stauffer continued, “There will be no news on The Walking Dead S3 until, at earliest, after the new Michonne Mini-Series concludes.” Kind of disappointing that we’ll have to wait until after the Michonne story to catch up with Clementine, but at the very least this gives us a timeline we can look at to see when that reunion might be. No release date has been given for the Michonne side story as of yet.
