The Last Guardian Gets A Permanent Price Drop

You may have noticed that The Last Guardian was getting price cuts all over the place these last few days on Amazon and the PlayStation Store. One would assume that there’s some sort of sale going on, but that isn’t the case; instead, the game is getting a permanent drop in price.

The news was first reported on by Polygon and confirmed by Sony. Now, instead of costing $59.99, the game will now cost $39.99, which is a $20 difference in price. But why a price cut now, I hear you ask? While we may never know the answer to that, it is possible that this price cut is due to the fact that the game wasn’t selling all that well. After all, the game was released on December 6th of last year, so not only did it miss the Black Friday/Thanksgiving bump, it also had to contend with a bunch of other games as well.

In any case, if you own a PlayStation 4 and were interested in The Last Guardian but weren’t sure, this might be just what you need to get off the fence and try out this game that’s been in development for years.
