Thor: Ragnarok Scribe to Help Rewrite Masters of the Universe Reboot

Christopher Yolst, who screen wrote Thor: The Dark World and who is screenwriting Thor: Ragnarok for Marvel, will be bringing another spectacular interdimensional fantasy to the big screen. SONY has hired Yolst to write their reboot of Masters of the Universe.

You know, Prince Adam, He-Man, Skeletor, Power of GraySkull? Yep we’re going to get a contemporary Hollywood big budget version of THAT. Yolst seems like a fine guy for the job with his experience writing superhuman beings fighting on fantastic worlds.

Undoubtedly the two most popular incarnations of the characters were the 1980s “He Man and the Masters of the Universe” cartoon from Filmation and Mattel and the movie inspired by the same with Dolph Lundgren and Frank Langella.

Let’s hope this effort avoid the pitfalls of other contemporary reboots of 80s and 90s nostalgia properties that I could mention. At least Michael Bay won’t be involved.
