Ubisoft’s New Avatar Game Will Not Impact The Division

Ubisoft and Massive have no plans to abandon The Division. While they may also be working on a new game based off James Cameron’s Avatar, they will not stop working on The Division to get that game done.

While fans were worried, wondering how the developer could handle to major games, but it seems there is a plan set for it. A Ubisoft representative told Eurogamer that there would be no impact on The Division.

“Avatar is a new project with its own dedicated team and Massive is currently recruiting top talent to work on it,” the representative said. “Avatar’s development has no impact on the team working on The Division or on our plans to continually support and update the game and brand for the long term.

“We’re proud of what the team has accomplished with The Division, thankful for our community’s dedication, and looking forward to sharing more about what’s coming next for the game very soon.”

As was announced earlier this week, Massive Entertainment will work alongside Fox Interactive and Lightstorm Entertainment to create a game based on James Cameron’s Avatar using The Division‘s Snowdrop engine. Ubisoft mentioned that the game will “continue to expand and deepen in the Avatar universe in exciting and innovative ways along with the films.”
