Negan in The Walking Dead

Negan Will Be Coming to “The Walking Dead” TV Series…Eventually

Warning: Season 4 Spoilers ahead!

Okay, the Governor is down for the count along with good, tender-hearted Hershel after the mid-season finale. While many of us are completely shocked by the episode, we should know that there is a new potential threat lurking in the woods. Who could it be?

For those that have read the comics, Negan could be the newest bad man who leads a group of people called the Saviors. Negan curses like a sailor, carries a baseball bat covered in barbed wire notably named Lucille, and also kills off a character important to the story line.

What’s Coming in the Second Half of The Walking Dead Season 4?

Don’t worry, though, because the Governor died in comic number 48 and Negan does not appear until book 100. But who better to ask that show creator, Robert Kirkman himself? Entertainment Weekly sat down with Kirkman, who had a few bits of information about whether Negan will be part of the AMC series.

“Well, there was a lot of breathing room in the comics between them,” says Kirkman. “Whether or not we have the same amount of breathing room, or if we do cut that down a little bit and bring him into the show a little early remains to be seen. But I definitely do think there needs to be some kind of space from a Governor into a Negan. You have to have something of a break in there. So I wouldn’t expect him to be showing up — definitely not in season 4. I don’t know. I wouldn’t expect it too soon. But we are all very excited about the prospect of bringing that guy into the show. The plan is that we will see him eventually.”

Season five is showing some potential, but if you think about it, who will be the antagonist for the second half of “The Walking Dead” Season 4? For those that have read the comics….shhh!
