Disney to take on Labyrinth Movie

Disney to Take on “Labyrinth” Movie

Walt Disney has reportedly been in talks with Larry Brenner to bring his version of “Labyrinth” to life. Supposedly, the film doesn’t have anything to do with the Jim Henson cult classic of the same name, although some of the story elements are pretty similar.

In Brenner’s version of “Labyrinth”, a princess must endure the trials of a danger labyrinth so she can save her father. This is only slightly different from Henson’s version in which a princess must travel through a labyrinth in order to save her baby brother. It will be interesting to see if the new film will also feature The Goblin King, previously brought to life by the epic David Bowie.

Brenner is perhaps best known for his screenplay “Bethlehem” which is currently being produced by Universal and Roth pictures.

The film is being produced by Jim Whitaker. Since the film is just in the planning stages no specific details have been released. Be sure to check back regularly for updates!
