What is Quentin Tarantino’s worst movie ever?
Quentin Tarantino, the director of the soon-to-be-released Django Unchained, has proven himself to be one of America’s great filmmakers. However, even a famous director has films that don’t exactly hit it out of the park. In a recent chat with THR, Tarantino gave his opinion of what he considers to be his worst film ever.
“Death Proof has got to be the worst movie I ever [made],” he told THR. “And for a left-handed movie, that wasn’t so bad, all right? So if that’s the worst I ever get, I’m good. But I do think one of those out-of-touch, old, limp, flaccid-dick movies costs you three good movies as far as your rating is concerned.”
Death Proof was half of the Grindhouse two-parter, billed with Robert Rodriguez’s Planet Terror. The double-feature had a dismal box office showing, bringing in about $25 million in the US.
Tarantino has hinted that he may stop directing films at some point in the near future. In a previous interview with Playboy, Tarantino said,”Directors don’t get better as they get older. Usually the worst films in their filmography are those last four at the end. I am all about my filmography, and one bad film fucks up three good ones … When directors get out-of-date, it’s not pretty.”
