Hitman Absolution Is Now Playable On Xbox One Via Backwards Compatibility
It’s another day that ends in ‘y’, and you know what that means: more games being added to the Xbox One backwards compatibility program! This time, the lucky game in question is Hitman Absolution.
The news comes from Xbox head Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb’s official Twitter account, who announced the game earlier today. Though the game received some pretty high scores from critics back when it first released in 2012, Hitman Absolution was also widely criticized by fans and a couple critics for moving away from a lot of what made the series great, mainly by making stages a linear affair when the previous games had been open ended. To this day, the game is still divisive among fans, with many thinking that the response to the game is the reason for the episodic reboot we see today.
You of course can make the decision for yourself now that the game is compatible with the Xbox One. If you own a physical copy, you can just put the disk in and play it that way, or you can get it from your digital library if you downloaded the game.
