We were wondering if Ben Kingsley’s Mandarin was going to show up in the extras for the “Thor: The Dark World” DVD release. Now it’s official. The new Marvel One-Shot. “All Hail The King” will star the “Iron Man 3” villain!

Kingsley recently hinted that he had worked on a secret project for Marvel aside from the “Iron Man” film, which led fans to believe that the Marvel short would be based around his Mandarin character.

In “Iron Man 3”, we know that the Mandarin was merely a failed actor ready to take on the world. Our terrorist hid behind the Mandarin, but the new upcoming feature has Kingsley in a high security prison, Seagate. “All Hail the King” seems like it will be an “Iron Man 3” epilogue or an “Iron Man 4” prologue.

Drew Pearce, director of “All Hail the King” told EW: “Imagine a real terrorist organization whose beliefs were long held and religious for thousands of years, and imagine a drunk, British actor coming along and essentially telling the world that he’s the face of your organization. I think they would be right to be quite angry.”

As far as “Iron Man 4” goes, “I think short movies in general, whether they’re Marvel ones or not, you kind of want them to feel like they’re opening you up to a bigger world. Yeah, I definitely think there are – the non-spoiler way for me to say it — by the end of the short, there are definitely a lot of exciting other places that are brought up in it that could then go in the Marvel universe. You know, whether that’s an Iron Man movie or another one going into Phase Two or Three.”

Wait no more, “Thor: The Dark World” will be out on DVD February 25 and you can check out some screenshots here, too!
