‘Captain America 3′ and ‘Batman vs Superman’ to Face Off in Theaters on May 6, 2016
Update: The title of the Marvel film that will go head-to-head with Batman vs. Superman has been revealed! THR has reported that the film will be none other than Captain America 3.
In an interview with /Film, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige assured fans that Marvel has no plans to change the May 6, 2016 release date of one of its upcoming, unspecified Marvel-verse films. This is despite the fact that, just this February, Warner Brothers announced that Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel follow up, Batman vs. Superman, would arrive in theaters that very same day.

One might expect even the pioneering Marvel Studios to have some trepidations about releasing an unspecified film against a superhero title with such an exciting prospect as Batman vs. Superman. However according to Feige, Marvel won’t be discouraged. “We’re certainly keeping the date there and we’ll announce what that movie is, I assume, in the next few months.”
Even though Feige certainly presents Marvel as standing its ground, Disney would have more of the ultimate say when it comes to the release dates of Marvel movies. Similarly, Warner Brothers may yet decide to move Batman vs Superman’s release date. Marvel Studios must be very confident in whatever movie it has lined up for May 2016. The most expected candidates include Captain America 3 or Doctor Strange.
Whatever it turns out to be, summer 2016 is sure to be an epic movie season for comic book fans.
