Whether or not you are into the MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) genre, it is hard to not have heard of League of Legends, the ever popular MOBA lovingly crafted by Riot Games. While there have been MOBAs that have come before it, there have been few that have ever captured the world like League of Legends. It seems Riot Games has decided to breath a little fresh air into its game by introducing a new character into fray, and he comes with a rather epic trailer.
Last week, League of Legends developer Riot Games released a trailer hinting at a new Champion. Today, we finally know now who said new Champion is.
Fans of the Japanese anime worldwide juggernaut Dragonball Z may know that the series' star character, Son Goku, is originally voiced by Japanese voice actress Masako Nozawa, and they may even know that Son Goku is based on the ancient Chinese story of Son Wukong, the Monkey King. But as Riot Games gears up to bring their massively successful MOBA to Japan, these facts come together in a neat way for those who like easter eggs.
Riot Games has always gone a bit overboard when it comes to finding new and creative ways to come up for characters for it's massively successful MOBA game League of Legends. With the recently announced Illaoi, the Kraken Priestess joining the fray, Riot has come up with a clever way to introduce the hard hitting priestess via a new browser game entitled the Trial of the Kraken Priestess. The very well made browser game challenges players to learn Illaoi's backstory through the eyes of a hapless sacrifice, dodging her vicious strikes with her weapon, a strange glowing ball. Certainly one of the more imaginative character launches by the Santa Monica based studio, and one of their more interesting characters to boot.
League of Legends has swiftly become one of the most-played games of the past few years. The game is comprised of over 100 Champions that are tasked with defending their towers and lanes against the opposing Champions. Each Champion has different moves and skills that make them unique, and in order to be good at the game, it is imperative to be both knowledgeable in the Champion you're playing as along with the Champion you are fighting against. Because of this, League of Legends can be quite challenging and takes an ample amount of skill, making it a highly competitive game.
