MLB 14: The Show hits home in 1080p on PS4 in May
Sony San Diego have just announced that the next-gen version of MLB 14: The Show is coming to PlayStation 4 on May 6th, 2014—a full month after the game releases on PS3 and PS Vita on April 1st. This news comes via the games official Facebook pages where a post reads, “The official PS4 release date has arrived! Get your hands on MLB 14 The Show for the PS4 on May 6.”
The games usually release in early March to coincide with the start of the Baseball season, but this year the games have been delayed to ensure complete parity across all three titles. Concerning the delay Sony San Diego community manager Ramone Russell said. “Rather than deliver PS3 and PS Vita versions that were more feature-rich than the PS4 version we opted for a later release date.”
The games won’t be completely equal as the PS4 version boasts many graphical upgrades which include a new lighting engine and 30 baseball stadiums, “built from the ground up,” to take full advantage of the PS4′s superior processing power. Sony also confirmed that MLB 14: The Show will run at native 1080p with a locked frame rate of 60 frames per second. Next-gen, meet baseball; baseball… Meet next-gen!
