Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 is setting itself up as a throwback to older games in the series. One of the aspects of the older games that I personally enjoyed were seeing some of the silly playable characters and costumes that they put in, like the Slim Jim mascot or Wolverine. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 seems to be bringing that back, as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game will have exclusive costumes for each version. Well, sort of.

You see, the costumes are less costumes, and more like masks, each one representing a beloved IP that’s exclusive to that console. On the PlayStation 4 version, players will be able to wear the head of Sackboy from LittleBigPlanet, Ratchet from Ratchet & Clank, and Sweet Tooth from Twisted Metal. The Xbox One will have Cuphead and Mugman from the upcoming Xbox One indie game Cuphead, as well as the player character from Sunset Overdrive. Over on Activision’s YouTube channel, a video showing off the three masks for that version was released, which you can check out below.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 is set for release on September 29th of this year for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Xbox 360.
