Warning: Full spoilers ahead!

In episode 2, “0-8-4″, the Agents are sent into Peru to research on an unknown artifact, the mission: find out if the object is dangerous and poses a threat or is nothing to worry about. What results are some shocking twists and turns in this week’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D”.

Agent Coulson brings his team into the Incan ruins of Peru, investigating what could be the next dangerous mission with the new rookie, Skye. Coulson is the mood to try and put things right for Agent May as she flies to the destination but seems to not want to let up. May was not up for pulling her weight in the field of combat, but seems to excel in the department nonetheless.

“Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” Recap S1/E1 “Pilot”

Skye gets her own room on the plane, is handed a flier and given the details. She seems reluctant to even begin working alongside the agents, her skills are not what she is brought on for.

Relocating to the ruins, Jemma and Leo are having a hay day bringing out their technology, researching the piece of equipment that is attached to the wall. Whatever force it holds is enough to attract the likes of the rebels and the local military, hence Comandante Camilla Reyes, leader of the army. It seems that Reyes and Coulson go way back but does time change friendships? While Reyes and Coulson order their parties to unarm, both go about as if nothing happened and try to work out common ground on “0-8-4”.

The rebels move in to take advantage of the laid back research that the Agents are pursuing. Once the lead fires, the agents are off to protect the piece of technology, that is stress sensitive and the team that is neutral. Agent Ward takes a hit but goes unnoticed until later on.

In the air, Melinda May is off to a classified location that will provide cover, disposing of whatever they need to before going back to headquarters. The Peruvian army is given the go ahead to go upstairs and find something to eat while making themselves comfortable. Reyes and Coulson catch up and reminisce on old times when they used to work off a bus. How long ago was this?

Skye and Ward step off on the wrong foot in the beginning but Skye brings the booze, two classes and sits down with the highly trained agent for some conversation, hoping they will see eye-to-eye. Talking about plans, a drink and reaching for more, Agent Ward becomes observant. Skye also notices and both are on the lookout for what may come. Sure enough, the Peruvian army is destined to take over the plane, the material and put the agents out for the 30,000 foot drop.

Tensions arise for both sides and control of the plane is up in the air as the command center notices the flight patterns have changed. The agents in custody sit in the cargo hold with the exception of Coulson. The others in the hold butt heads but come to a conclusion on how to take back the plane. Agent May is the first up to bat, taking control; the others move to gather gear and move up. Leo is next, teaming up with his little electronic device and through the ducts it goes.

Coulson sees the plan and ties the rope a little tighter. From here, the action is packed and until the plane is in the right hands, on the ground. The group makes it to the repair shop to fix the plane, and aim the tesseract into the Sun via a slingshot rocket.

During the post-credits, Nick Fury makes a surprise cameo appearance to yell at Coulson for ruining the plane. He also issues a warning about Skye. Check out the clip of Nick Fury’s short but sweet appearance below.
