Titanfall AI Will Not Get Boost From Cloud Processing

With the recent Alpha build of Titanfall being test-played by select gamer’s, video was bound to get leaked sooner or later. After numerous videos popped up online showcasing what a standard game would look like, many people praised the flow of game play, use of environment, and frenetic action. Even for an early version, the game earned a fair amount of praise. That is, except for intelligence of the A.I. which did not leave as great an impression.

The issue arises from commentators claiming that the A.I. has poor performance and did not act with any real difficulty. This prompted questions as to whether the cloud-based data used in the game will boost the bots to “learn” and become more formidable as time goes on. Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on how you look at the situation, it appears that the difficulty and tactics will not be boosted from the cloud in any meaningful way. Abbie Heppe, Community Manager for Respawn Entertainment, responded to a question on Twitter about the cloud boosting A.I. with “I don’t think that’s how it works”. While this could mean that the bots will always stay on an easy difficulty, the game is still in Alpha stage and a few months away. Titanfall will launch in early March for Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.
