Enroll in a Free “Walking Dead” College Course
Don’t you wish that more parts of your life were filled with “The Walking Dead”? Well, the people down at AMC think so! The University of California, Irvine and AMC have teamed up to bring the dead into the class rooms for college credits! That’s right, it is a free online coursed based on the popular TV series!
Many people are worrying that “Society, Science, Survival: Lessons from AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’” class will have nothing to really offer besides easy credits, but the people behind the class think differently. AMC had this to say regarding this issue in a press release: “Fans of the show know that ‘The Walking Dead’ is about more than zombies; it’s about survival, leadership and adapting to situations that are perilous and uncertain.”
A simple outline was provide for the class that explained some of the things participants will get to do in this online course. “watch engaging lectures, listen to expert interviews, watch exclusive interviews with cast members talking about their characters, use key scenes from the show to illustrate course learning, read interesting articles, participate in large and small group discussions, and — of course — test our learning with quizzes.” That sounds pretty cool, especially if you are into the acting scene. Overall this class seems promising and seems to be grabbing the attention of young folks all across America.
