Far Cry Classic was announced a while ago for release in Europe on February 12th. Till then, we haven’t even heard any mention of a release to North America. However, Ubisoft has finally announced (via their blog) that not only is Far Cry Classic coming to the states, it’s also coming next week!

Far Cry Classic is a re-make of the original Far Cry, which was developed by Crytek and released way back in 2004 exclusively on the PC. The release of Classic marks the first time Far Cry has been on any consoles. It’s what you’d come to expect from an HD remake: everything rendered in glorious high definition, along with some redone cut scenes and other various graphical boosts. The game will be released onto the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Live Games Store for $9.99. Since it’s coming so soon, now might be the time to scrounge up some cash and give the game a try. With the popularity of Far Cry 3 (and the fact that it introduced plenty of new fans to the series), many fans of 3 will probably want to get their hands on this classic.
