There have been rumors swirling around regarding a Remastered collection of the Gears of War series for Xbox One. Nothing has been confirmed as of yet, but Xbox head Phil Spencer did at least acknowledge it in a tweet that read, “haha, I can’t announce that. But stay tuned.” However there has been some new information via an “insider report” that can be exciting for fans willing to take it with a grain of salt. And also large enough that it couldn’t make its way out of a shaker.
X-Rays stated on Twitter that the collection will be shown at E3 2015 and will be running at the elusive 1080p, 60 fps. He also claims that a studio other than Black Tusk is creating the game. This would make sense as Black Tusk is currently hard at work on the next entry in the Gears of War franchise, which will be exclusive to Xbox One. Having a single studio working on a massive exclusive title as well as remastering a 7th generation series to a new console in 1080p, 60 fps would be stretching resources extremely thin, especially considering game budgets these days. These rumors are entirely unsubstantiated however so keep your expectations low. All we can do is wait until E3 2015.
