Gran Turismo 7 Likely Not Coming In 2014

Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi responded in a recent interview with Eurogamer that despite earlier claims from Sony, their premiere racing simulator likely won’t be making it for a 2014 debut. “We’re working on the title, I don’t think it’ll make make this year!” While previous installations saw a promotional Prologue edition with content smaller than a retail release, but bigger than a demo, Yamauchi says that he and his team at Polyphony Digital do not have such ideas planned for Gran Turismo 7.

In order to help get the game out sooner as opposed to later, Yamauchi confirmed that they have plans to reuse vehicle assets from prior games going as far back as Gran Turismo 4, released in 2004. “Each car has its own fans. So I think we’ll hang on to the archive. In the meanwhile, some of those cars we may be able to make into Premium cars as they become available.”
