At the Nintendo Direct Broadcast it was announced that beginning today, several select SNES titles will become available for download on the eShop for 3Ds owners. Even better, more will become available later in the year.

The first set of titles that will be available today are: Super Mario World, Pilotwings, and F-Zero. On March 24th Mario Kart, EarthBound, and Donkey Kong Country will be added to the list. The last titles to be announced today were The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Super Metroid, and Donkey Kong Country 2 which will all come out April 14th on the eshop.

The ports will be in the original resolution and original style, so the nostalgia will be on full blast like a blue turtle shell. Nintendo did not mention anything about price for these downloads or if/when they plan to add any more original SNES titles to the eShop.
