Skylanders Battlecast introduces new Trading Card Game with New Trailer

Activision has announced that it is adding a new trading card game/app hybrid for iOS, Android, and Amazon devices with Skylanders Battlecast. Skylanders Battlecast will be introducing your favorite Skylander heroes and power ups into trading card form which you will assemble into a deck to duel either online or in the single-player campaign provided with the app.
CEO of Activision, Eric Hirshberg said “Build from the ground up to bring Skylanders to life on mobile devices, Skylanders Battlecast combines physical cad play with mobile gaming in an all-new way. This is our biggest investment, and one of our most magical ideas yet, for the Skylanders franchise on mobile.” To do this, players can choose to purchase the physical card packs at retail, as well as the digital card packs in-game. Players will be able to scan the card to get the digital copy and in true Skylanders fashion, players can view their Skylanders dueling on the screen after you summon them into the game via your device’s camera. Skylanders Battlecast will be available sometime in 2016 via the App Store, Google Play, and the Amazon Appstore.
