Arkane Is Working Hard On PC Version Of Prey

Arkane had some trouble with Dishonored 2 on PC when it first launched and they are working hard to make sure they don’t have repeat problems with Prey. The developers are working hard to make sure that the game is as perfect as they can get it on PC as soon as the game launches.

In an interview with Game Informer co-creative director Rafael Colantonio mentioned their hard work. He said the team is “paying double attention” to ensure that the PC version “is really flawless.”

“We had a rough launch on the PC,” he explained. “In development you never exactly know what you’re going to see, most of all with PC, because there are so many different configurations and stuff. Unfortunately, it’s what it is, it shipped, then it got patched, and now it runs really well. So…so of course, we are paying double attention to making sure that this time, the PC version is really flawless.”

Colantonio has a few ideas on how to make this happen. He wants to have more QA time to help find bugs and the team will be using the tried and tested CryEngine rather than their custom engine based on idTech that they used with Dishonored 2.

Prey is set to release later this year for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
