Skyrim Special Edition Gets A Performance Boost

Bethesda has released a new update for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition that helps improve performance in the game. The update is currently only live for PlayStation 4 and PC with the Xbox One release soon to follow. While the game has already been much improved since release, it is nice to see a few of the remaining problems get handled.

Update 1.3 makes several improvements to the game, the biggest being a bump in performance for those with 144hz monitors. The update also improves performance and stability and fixes an issue where Slow Time effects were behaving incorrectly.

Here are the full patch notes:

  • General stability and performance improvements
  • Fixed an issue where Slow Time effects weren’t behaving properly
  • Better support for 144hz displays (PC)
  • Fixed issue with being unable to log into Bethesda.net

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition is out now on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Update 1.3 is currently only available for the PlayStation 4 and PC with the Xbox one version set to release soon.
