Tatsumi Kimishima Appointed Representative Director of Nintendo

Following the untimely and heartwrenching passing of former President of Nintendo Satoru Iwata, the game studio giant has appointed Tatsumi Kimishima as the new Representative Director in order to fill the administrative gap Iwata has left behind, as detailed in a press announcement made earlier today. Kimishima has had an illustrious career joining Nintendo in 2000 as Representative Director of The Pokemon Company, going on to become Director of Nintendo of America in 2002 where he would eventually move to the lead of Human Resources Division in June of 2014. Before working for Nintendo, Kimishima spent 27 years with the Sanwa Bank of Japan.

Kimishima is joined by Genyo Takeda and Shigeru Miyamoto, who will be assisting Kimishima as Technology Fellow and Creative Fellow, respectively. As fellows, Miyamoto and Takeda will be lending their experience and knowledge in their respective fields, in order to provide guidance in how specific areas of the company, such as creative and technology, should be operated.
