Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 Details Create-A-Park Mode

Today over on their blog, Activision revealed some new details on Create-A-Park mode, the fan favorite mode that originally debuted in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 (under the name Park Editor), and is making its huge return in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5.

Create-A-Park mode will enable players to, you guessed it, create their own skate park, with over 250 objects at their disposal, which can be structured however the player wants on one of five pre made maps. These maps themes are a beach, a warehouse, a skatepark, a school, and a fifth area that has yet to be revealed. Each of these three maps can be set to one of three sizes. “Level design in THPS is all about flow,” explains Design Director Patrick Dwyer. ”So, you make a tight gameplay loop, and then another tight gameplay loop. Then you make a line that brings those two gameplay loops together. You keep doing this process until someone can seamlessly flow from one trick line to another.” In addition, once the map is uploaded to the Internet, up to 20 players online can take part on it.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 is set to release on September 29th, for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
